Know Exactly What Changed: Introducing the Audit Log
"Who changed this?" "When did this value get updated?" "What did it say before?" If you've ever asked one of these questions about a patient record — and every organization eventually does — we have news that's going to make your day. WRMD now keeps an automatic, behind-the-scenes record of changes to your patient records. We call it the Audit Log, and it's been one of the most requested features in WRMD's history.
What It Does
The Audit Log quietly documents the changes made across a patient's record — exams, prescriptions, rechecks, and more. For each change, it captures the full story:
• What changed
• When it changed
• Who made the change
• What the value was before, and what it became
No one has to remember to turn it on or write anything down. It simply happens, automatically, in the background, while your team focuses on the animals.
How It Works
Open any patient, click on ‘more’ and then choose the Audit Log from the drop down menu. You'll see a clean, chronological timeline of every change on one side, and rich detail on the other — whether each entry was a creation, an update, or a deletion, and exactly which part of the record it touched. Need to find something specific? Filter the timeline by record type, by the person who made the change, or by a date range. (On a phone or tablet, those details appear in a tidy pop-up.)

Why You're Going to Love It
Accountability, built in. When everyone knows changes are recorded, records get treated with care. And when a question does come up, you have a clear, factual answer instead of a guessing game.
Answers when you need them. Trying to reconstruct what happened to a patient last Tuesday? The timeline lays it out for you — who, what, and when, in order.
Peace of mind for compliance. Regulators, permitting agencies, and grant funders increasingly want to know your records are trustworthy. The Audit Log gives you documentation you can stand behind.
An honest, unchangeable trail. Audit Log entries can't be edited or deleted. That means the history you're looking at is the real history — a record you and your team can genuinely rely on. Entries are retained for two years from when they're created.
Trust You Can See
Good record-keeping has always been at the heart of great wildlife rehabilitation. The Audit Log brings a new layer of transparency and integrity to the work you already do so well — quietly protecting your data, supporting your oversight, and standing as proof of the care your organization puts into every single patient.
It's on, it's automatic, and it's working for you right now. Open a patient's Audit Log and see for yourself.
